The Carduus marianus is known in Dutch as milk thistle, and in Latin as Silybum marianum. Carduus means thistle and marianus refers to the biblical name Mary. Milk thistle was already used by the ancient Romans and Greeks as a beneficial plant. Milk thistle has been extensively researched over the years. In 1954 it was shown that the effectiveness of milk thistle had a lot to do with the flavonoid complex silymarin. This ingredient is known for its liver-protecting properties. Milk thistle is good for digestion * thanks to its beneficial effect on the body after consumption of fats, alcohol and sugars. In addition, it supports the cleansing effect of the liver * . Instructions
