Description
Q10 (coenzyme Q10) is a substance that our body can make itself and occurs in all cells. In addition to the body's own production, we also get Q10 through food. Naturally, the intake from food becomes more important if your body produces less Q10 on its own. Q10 is therefore considered an important nutrient. A supplement can offer a solution if you have an above-average need for Q10. The most common forms of Q10 in supplements are ubiquinone and ubiquinol. Ubiquinone is the oxidized form of Q10; after ingestion, the body still has to convert it itself before it benefits from the active Q10. Ubiquinol is the most biologically active version of Q10: a 'ready-to-use' form that the body can absorb directly and better.
