Healthy recipe | Rich in antioxidants and omega 3

Did you know that your diet and lifestyle can have a major impact on the condition of your skin? Varied, fresh and organic food is the first step towards healthy and beautiful skin. Superfoods can be a useful supplement, but luckily there are a lot of 'regular' products that you can find in the supermarket that can contribute to healthy skin.

Antioxidants

Our body has an ingenious protective mechanism of its own to limit damage from so-called free radicals. Those 'protectors' are antioxidants. Known antioxidants are vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E. Foods rich in antioxidants are: kale, broccoli, spinach, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, mango, sweet potato, carrots, red bell pepper, red cabbage, dark chocolate (70%) or cocoa powder (small amounts).

Omega 3

Omega 3 fatty acids also contribute to a 'barrier' against all kinds of annoying skin ailments that you do not want. They also provide the skin with nutrition, making your skin feel soft and supple. Sources of omega 3 fatty acids are fatty fish, avocado, dark green leafy vegetables, walnuts, chia seeds, linseed.

Herbs and spices

Some herbs and spices are known to have various health benefits. They have the same qualities as antioxidants, but they also stimulate blood flow, so that oxygen, minerals and vitamins reach the skin's surface better. This applies to cinnamon, garlic, ginger and turmeric, among others.
