The 5 best tips for storing food supplements!

In addition to quality and results, ease of use is also of paramount importance at Golden Naturals. With every (new) product we ask ourselves: how do we ensure that the consumer can use it as practically and pleasantly as possible? We think about the content and size of a capsule, as well as the design of the label and packaging. In combination with consumption and storage tips for the consumer, we work on optimal use and benefit of our products. So we actually take care of that together!

Did you know that the quality and effectiveness of nutritional supplements is partly influenced by the way you store them? For an optimal shelf life and quality of your capsules and tablets, we have 6 golden tips for you:

  1. Store your supplements in the original packaging in a dry place and at room temperature immediately after purchase. Never keep your supplements in a humid environment and not in the refrigerator; unless explicitly stated on the label. The advantage of the jars from Golden Naturals is that they are not made of (transparent) glass, so that our supplements are not sensitive to damage by UV light.

Extra tip: place your pots at eye level or in plain sight in your kitchen (cupboard). That way you will automatically be reminded every morning / evening to take your supplements!

  2. You may have come across them before: cotton wool or small silica gel bags in the packaging. Don't throw these away! They have an important function: they absorb moisture and thus protect the quality of the product.

  3. All our supplements have an expiration date on the label. The quality is guaranteed during this period, provided the product has not yet been opened. Has the expiration date passed? Then the quality of the product may have decreased. It is therefore smart to respect the expiry date.

  4. Not so much a storage tip, but a handy usage tip: if you have trouble swallowing capsules or if you do not like the taste of capsules: you can disassemble capsules with confidence. You put the powdered content in a glass of water or stir it through your yogurt or custard. Only in the case of probiotics it is better to take the capsule whole. Do you want to know why, or do you want more tips for the consumption of large capsules / tablets? You can read all about it in this blog.

  5. Last but not least, and it is oh so obvious, but it is more often forgotten than you think: make sure you always close the jar with capsules or tablets properly after use!
