What is Scutellaria?

Scutellaria is a genus of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. Scutellaria baicalensis is best known by its Dutch name 'glidkruid'. There are more than 300 species of Scutellaria and some of these are traditionally used in herbal medicine.
