What is bladder function?

Bladder function encompasses the complex system of multiple functions. Starting with the storage of urine. The main function of the bladder is to store urine. When the bladder is half-full, its walls begin to stretch. At this point, your bladder sends a signal to your brain that it is time to urinate. When you decide to urinate, your brain sends a signal to the muscles of the bladder, detrusor muscle, to contract and another signal to the sphincter muscle to relax. This lets the urine flow out of the bladder and out through the urethra.
